Rachel received her Masters of Art from University of Iowa before going to the Rhode Island School of Design for her Masters in Architecture. She has worked for multiple firms including Skidmore Owens and Merrill, HLKB Architecture, Knowles Blunck Architecture, and Neumann Monson Architects. In 2017, Rachel and James cofounded Spiller Design & Architecture.

James studied Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with a Bachelors of Art. He went on to receive a Masters of Architecture from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. James has worked as a Designer for Knowles Blunck, an Associate Professor of Practice at Iowa State University, and a Director of Design at Blackbird. In 2017, James and Rachel cofounded Spiller Design & Architecture.

Hannah went to Iowa State University’s College of Design for her Bachelors of Architecture. During her time at ISU, she was awarded the DLR Group prize for exhibiting a rigorous examination of sustainable building participation in socio-political and environmental systems. She is a licensed Architect and has been working for Spiller Design & Architecture since 2021.

Finn received his Bachelors of Science from the University of North Carolina Asheville where he studied ecological and governmental system design. He spent time after school serving with Americorps and volunteering for the American Red Cross. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Architecture program at Iowa State University. Finn joined Spiller Design & Architecture during the summer of 2022.
